(Continuation of thoughts on Zephaniah 1 and 3; 2 Thessalonians 2:7; Luke 4:34 and Luke 6:11)
To all who call themselves by the name of Christ and truly seek to serve Him with all their hearts, all their souls, all their minds and all their strength.
Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,
In the series of messages that I have been impressed to write over the past two weeks commencing with the "Vision Concerning Zephaniah 1 and 3" on 4 April in which I saw a six wheeled chariot of judgement about to be driven over the church there has been a progression of emphasis towards challenging us to depart from our Pharisaic beliefs and Talmudic teachings and to return to the pure, Holy Spirit breathed word of God. The vision of judgment was followed by "some thoughts on 2 Thessalonians 2:7 : when "He who now restrains.....Is taken out of the way" which further suggested that there is a scriptural basis to expect judgment at this time.
We have been presented with the challenging question, arising out of Luke 4:34 "is the bride ready for the wedding or is she about to face judgment?" We were then warned that "blessed is he that does not stumble because of Jesus"
Yesterday morning, (Friday 21 April - the morning of Jesus' passion) just before sunrise I stood on the patio and looked out on the beauty of creation. As I did so, I realized that exactly 1,970 years previously Jesus, had started to received serious physical abuse at about that time. Shortly after day break He was taken to Pilot, then to Herod and by the very latest 12h00 (the sixth hour) He was hanging on the cross and darkness covered the earth until His death at about 15h00. In the process "He who knew no sin" (2 Corinthians 5:21) took ALL the sins of the entire world from creation to the end of this age, upon Himself. No man will ever comprehend what Jesus went through that day. Joyner, in The Final Quest, in the passage where he experiences a deep vision of Jesus passion describes the scene to some degree. Yet no man can hope to truly imagine how terrible it must of been for Him who had NEVER sinned, and the incredible love of Him who had the power to call twelve legion of angels to take Him down from the cross, to remain there for our sakes!
Someone once said to me, "imagine the worst sin that you have ever committed, then imagine the worst sin that you can think of that you have heard of anyone ever committing, then imagine all of the sin throughout time, including each of the individual attrocities of the concentration camps of the Second World War, recognize how repulsive you find those things and then consider how infinitely more terrible it must have been for Jesus who was without spot or blemish!". It is an exercise worth doing at this time.
The church has largely adopted pagan rites, we have "easter" instead of "passover", we have "easter eggs" = pagan fertility symbols and we have "easter bunnies" which relate to the pagan rites. We have strange religious stories about how Jesus, who observed the Sabbath on Saturday (the seventh day of the week) throughout His life, somehow, without telling us anywhere in scripture, changed the Sabbath from the last day of the week to the first day of the week. We even presume to write in respected Bible commentaries that "Christians are different to all other religions because they celebrate the Sabbath on the first day of the week because that is when Jesus rose from the dead", when in fact, careful reading of the original text adjusted by a correct understanding of the calendar and conventions in place at the time of Jesus death, will show that Jesus rose from the dead at about 18h00 on Saturday evening since the new day started in those days at sunset! Accordingly, the first day of the week which we call Sunday commenced on Saturday evening at sunset and the passages of scripture which refer to the Sunday morning are in fact referring to the Saturday evening. In other words, church meetings held on Sunday after 18h00 are, in fact, being held on the SECOND day of the week. Then, to compound it, Sunday is literally "the day of the Sun", named after the pagan Sun god's of Egypt, Babylon, Rome, etc!
In addition Christians who visit Jerusalem at this time walk the "way of the cross" ending at a "church of the crucifixion" and yet there is incresing evidence that Jesus did not walk that way at all and that the site of the crucifixion was and still is outside the walls of the city and has been located. Furthermore, there is absolutely no scriptural basis for the "stations of the cross" and much of the other ritual that surrounds this time.
On this basis alone, can we truly say that the bride ready for Jesus' return, let alone that she is a chaste virgin?
2 Corinthians 11:2-4 states:
2 For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted-- you may well put up with it! (NKJ)
