COMMENT
This is another article from Your Arms to Israel which is extremely relevant at this time.
For technical reasons it is contained in a separate document.
It draws a very interesting distinction between Moses, Yahweh=s prophet who heard Yahweh=s voice and communicated it and Aaron, the first priest who was eloquent, a good administrator, etc. It emphasises that even today, those who are prophets tend to be in the background while those who are eloquent and good administrators tend to be prominent. But, as, when left alone without Moses, while Moses was on Mount Sinai obtaining the Ten Commandments, Aaron resorted to idolatry in response to pressure from Athe people@ so many in positions of leadership in congregations who are pastors, teachers, administrators, etc today turn away from Yahweh=s word, resort to idols and stone the prophets. This article reinforces the teaching on ASome Scriptures Relating to >The People=@ on 11 January 2001 and takes it significantly further.
This article also picks up another point, which is of great importance. It happens that this is the third instance in recent weeks where my attention has been drawn to this part of scripture and it therefore seems particularly important. In Exodus 32:10, Yahweh declares ANow therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.@
Here we see Yahweh, filled with wrath at the idolatry of Israel, determined to destroy several million people!
Again, in verse 32:27 we read AAnd he said unto them, Thus saith Elohim of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour@.
Here we see Yahweh commanding that the offenders be slain by their brethren. These passages address an aspect which many who call on the Name of Yahshua (Jesus) seem too often to overlook. Comments like AJesus would never do anything like that@ with reference to severe punishment or anger at unGodly behaviour, are frequently heard. Yet Scripture is full of incidents such as those above.
The article makes the point that those who killed their brethren were accounted righteous in the sight of Yahweh. Not mentioned in the article, but worth noting in this context, are the two incidents where Yahshua (Jesus) filled with anger at the conduct of people in the Temple in Jerusalem cleansed the Temple. John 2:15 says that Yahshua made a Awhip@ with which he drove the moneychangers out of the Temple. Revelation 6:16 refers to the Wrath of the Lamb, that is the Wrath of Yahshua! Those who call themselves by the name of AChrist@ [Messiah] must understand that Yahshua paid a GREAT PRICE for our redemption and that we will be subject to a HARSHER JUDGMENT than those who do not know Him. Yet, many conduct themselves as though this is not the case.
Returning to the article, it continues Ais it ... scriptural.. To allow Yisrael (Israel) as a people to ignore Yahweh=s Torot (instructions) during momentary absence of prophetic voices ...? Will Yisrael continue to remain stiffnecked even in the presence of Yahweh=s prophets ...?@ However one defines Israel today, one must apply this question to ALL who call on the Name of Yahshua Messiah (Jesus Christ), whether of Jewish or Gentile heritage. We constantly see evidence that the vast majority of believers today are ignorant of and ignore the prophetic voices that are sent to them
The article concludes AFor it is Yahweh=s way to use His prophets to bring about changes in His people Yisrael; to turn them back to His ways. These changes include setting oneself apart from ALL that is not of Yahweh and leading those who are not yet there into The Promised Land, Eretz Yisrael (Land of Yisrael), not leaving them wallowing in the mud of their (our) sinfulness.
Are we up to the task? I pray that Yahweh=s prophets continue to step up to this task fearlessly as led by Avinu Malkenu (our Father and King) Yahweh, B=Shem (in the Name of) Yahshua, haMashiach (The Messiah).@
To this we must all surely say a loud AAmen@.
