Recently I was sharing with someone who was battling to forgive and forget re a major wrong that was done against her some years ago. I shared an approach to forgiveness that I learned many years ago based on Yahooshua’s {Jesus’} prayer on the stake “Father forgive them they do not know what they are doing” Luke 23:34.
This should be read in context with Matthew 6:14 and 15 14“14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

It is said “forgive and forget”, some translations of 1 Corinthians 13:5 say “keeps no account of wrongs”.
Many people find it difficult to forgive, let alone to forget as well.
I would like to share some thoughts on how this can be done:
The answer lies in Yahooshua’s words “forgive them they do not know what they are doing”.
Consider the item you are battling to forgive and forget.
Consider Yahooshua’s situation:
- Yahoodah of Kerioth {Judas Iscariot} betrayed him – Yahoodah was one of the twelve who had followed Yahooshua from the start, he was at the final supper, yet he betrayed Yahooshua to the Chief Priests so they could put Yahooshua to death.
- They bound Yahooshua and beat him.
- They flogged him till the flesh fell in ribbons off his back.
- They forced Yahooshua to drag the heavy section of tree trunk (stake NOT cross) to the execution site.
- They nailed him to the stake – note that indications are that the nails were roughly forged, NOT the smooth nails we take for granted today -- agonizing.
- They dropped the stake into the socket in the rock with bone jarring agonizing shock.
- He hung there for hours, hanging on his hands with excruciating pain, unable to breathe so he had to push up on his feet to gasp a few breaths and then sagging down again always in extreme agonizing pain.
- Father removed His Spirit from Yahooshua so he could die so in the end he hung there alone without the Anointing that had sustained him for the previous three and a half years.
- He died in excruciating agony.
- They thrust a spear into his side.
If Yahooshua could forgive Yahoodah {Judas} who betrayed him and all the people who beat him and tortured him YOU can forgive!
Meditate on the above and then make a conscious decision to forgive whoever you need to forgive.
If necessary, phone them, email them, write a letter and let it go and put it behind you.
Pray “Father, as Yahooshua forgave I choose to forgive … (name) I ask you to help me make my forgiveness reality in my life.”
I hope that this will help you to forgive as necessary.
May Father bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you and grant you His Peace
May Yah judge me severely and correct me harshly and show me the level of my present deception and how to correct it with regard to everything that I write and publish
