Essentially becoming a Believer involves an irreversible spiritual state change from the default setting at birth which is unbelief to the state of Belief, a settled assurance of the reality of the Creator. Generally this will be a conscious intellectual decision although if one has a dramatic spiritual experience one may come to Belief without conscious assent.
2022.10.06 How to Become a Believer
I have realized that I write constantly to Believers and note that my writings are only applicable to people who believe but I have never written about WHAT is required in order to become a Believer.
Essentially becoming a Believer involves an irreversible spiritual state change from the default setting at birth which is unbelief to the state of Belief, a settled assurance of the reality of the Creator. Generally this will be a conscious intellectual decision although if one has a dramatic spiritual experience one may come to Belief without conscious assent.
It is possible for this to happen in a manner in which there is no particular awareness of a state change. For example, I underwent preparation for “Confirmation” in the Anglican Church at the age of about 13 or 14 and at some level became a Believer during that process. However, when I had a dramatic encounter with the Almighty in 1993 in the days that followed I was led by the Church I started attending to believe that I had become a Believer at that point. Years later I realized that I had been a Believer from the time I was Confirmed and that the dramatic experience was only given because I was ALREADY a Believer.
It is possible to come to Belief through any number of events, such as observing the night sky and concluding that there has to be a Creator. It can also come about through reading an article like https://www.eti-ministries.org/essence-of-message-regarding-creation and at some point in the article having “a light go on” and a cognitive realization that there HAS to be a Creator.
The important point is that this does NOT require some conscious decision or prayer, it CAN be an intuitive “gut feel” recognition of the reality of the Creator. This is best reinforced by a prayer such as:
“Father, Yah, the Almighty Creator, I have previously believed that you do NOT exist. I now recognize that I was mistaken and I repent and ask you to forgive me.
“I chose now to accept the reality of your existence and I ask you to help me to learn about you and come into relationship with you.
“Show me what to read and listen to and what NOT to read and listen to.
“Send people to me who can help me and keep people from me who will not help me.
“Amen”
Note that this is only the first step in the journey.

Note also that this can be a momentary state change and UNLESS the person concerned then walks out this decision it is entirely possible for them to continue to live as an Unbeliever for the rest of their lives.
There is a period of seven days from the moment of decision where intense Grace is extended and much can and should be done in terms of repenting of sins, growing in relationship with Father Yah, sanctification (cleansing), etcetera. In particular, immediately one prays with regard to Belief it is ALSO desirable to pray to be filled with the Spirit of Yah “Father Yah, I ask you to fill me with your Spirit and come and dwell within me”, thereafter, again one can carry on as before OR one can take ongoing conscious steps to be more and more filled with Yah’s Spirit – I plan to write an article on this shortly.
